Conventional boilers are fitted with a cylinder and water tanks in the loft.

The boiler heats the water that feeds the radiators and which passes through the hot water cylinder. It is this water that indirectly heats the water in the cylinder, which provides hot water for your taps and showers.

The small tank in the loft provides the water that feeds the radiators and the larger tank feeds in to the hot water cylinder.
